The wire crosses the dentition through the embrasures, inter proximal of the cuspids. “U” shaped loops are placed on the cuspids. These can be used to increase retention as well as stabilize cuspids that may have required rotation during active treatment. If carefully activated, they can be used to affect minor lingual rotation of the cuspids.
